Its upper end is marked by the statue of St. Wenceslas and the National Museum, while the lower end opens into the city's pedestrian zone. The square has witnessed pivotal moments in Czech history. How to get there

The easiest option is to get off at Můstek station (Lines A and B), whose exit opens straight onto the lower part of Wenceslas Square – you're there within a minute. If you'd rather start by the National Museum at the top, get off at Muzeum station (Lines A and C). From there you can walk the whole square downhill back to Můstek.

Good to know

💡 Wenceslas Square is a pedestrian artery lined with shops, hotels and currency exchanges – avoid the exchange offices near the square because of poor rates. Watch for pickpockets in the crush around the metro entrances. The lower end of the square has recently been renovated, with a restored tram line.
