How to get to Jewish Quarter (Josefov) by metro
Overview
Josefov is the former Jewish ghetto and the best-preserved complex of Jewish monuments in Central Europe. It includes six synagogues, the Jewish Museum, the ceremonial hall and the famous Old Jewish Cemetery with its thousands of leaning tombstones. The quarter sits right next to Old Town Square, and the nearest station is Staroměstská on Line A.

How to get there
Get off at Staroměstská station (Line A) – the exit brings you out practically at the edge of Josefov. The Spanish Synagogue or the Old-New Synagogue are about a 3-minute walk away. It is one of the most accessible sights in the centre, with hardly any long walk involved.
Good to know
💡 Admission to most sites is combined in a single Jewish Museum ticket; the Old-New Synagogue is charged separately. The monuments are closed on Saturdays (Shabbat) and on Jewish holidays. Men are expected to cover their heads when entering the synagogues.
