What is Lítačka?
Lítačka is the official transit card of Prague Integrated Transport (PID), which you use to pay for rides on the metro, trams, buses, trains and ferries across Prague and the surrounding area. It is issued by the City of Prague in partnership with the DPP transit operator.
It comes in two forms: a physical chip card and the PID Lítačka app on your phone. You can load the card with either credit for single tickets, or a travel pass (30, 90 or 365 days) for unlimited rides.
The card and the app are free once you register. Below you will find how to top up credit and how to check your balance.

Credit is used to buy single tickets — handy if you travel only occasionally. A travel pass (30/90/365 days) gives unlimited rides and is the best value for everyday travel.
Yes. You can board the metro, a tram or a bus with a contactless bank card (Tap&Go) and the fare is charged automatically. For discounts and travel passes, though, Lítačka is the better option.
A registered Lítačka can be blocked if lost, and its pass and credit transferred to a new card. This is not possible with an unregistered card or with anonymous tickets.
A travel pass is personal and valid only for its holder. Credit for single tickets can be used in turn by several passengers — each ride is charged separately.
Yes, Lítačka is the card for the whole PID system. Credit and passes can be used across your chosen fare zones — for trips beyond Prague, choose a pass covering the relevant zones.
