What is Lítačka?

Lítačka is the official transit card of Prague Integrated Transport (PID), which you use to pay for rides on the metro, trams, buses, trains and ferries across Prague and the surrounding area. It is issued by the City of Prague in partnership with the DPP transit operator.

It comes in two forms: a physical chip card and the PID Lítačka app on your phone. You can load the card with either credit for single tickets, or a travel pass (30, 90 or 365 days) for unlimited rides.

The card and the app are free once you register. Below you will find how to top up credit and how to check your balance.

What types of Lítačka are there?

Physical Lítačka
A personalised chip card with a photo. Ideal for long-term passes and discounts (children, students, seniors). Get one at a DPP service point or online with home delivery.
PID Lítačka app
The card right on your phone — buy a ticket or a pass, check your balance and pass through the turnstile by tapping your phone. Free to download for Android and iPhone.
Bank card
You can board the metro or a tram with a contactless bank card too — the fare is charged automatically (Tap&Go). For discounts and travel passes, though, Lítačka is the better option.
