Metro fares
Basic ticket 39 Kč, discounted 19 Kč, monthly pass 550 Kč — every ticket, pass and where to buy them.
How much does a Prague metro ticket cost?
PID tariff effective 1 January 2026. Fares are cheaper in the PID Lítačka app. The fare applies on all PID services within zone P (Prague) — on the metro, trams, buses and ferries.
Which ticket is right for you?
Ticket, or Lítačka?
A single ticket suits occasional trips — buy it from a vending machine, by SMS or in the app, and validate it at the yellow stamping machine before you enter the metro.
Lítačka is the Prague transit card (a physical card or an app). Load it with a travel pass (monthly, quarterly, annual) and ride unlimited — the best value for everyday commuters.
Physical Lítačka card: Lítačka free upon registration. Check your balance and top up on the Lítačka page.
Where to buy a ticket
Always validate a paper ticket at the yellow stamping machine when entering the metro; travelling without a valid ticket is fined.
Discounts and tips
Children aged 6 to 15 and students up to 26 ride at the discounted fare (single ticket 19 Kč). Eligibility is shown with a PID Lítačka card.
Children under 6 ride free. On weekends and public holidays a group family ticket is available — good value for days out in Prague.
For a short stay, the 24-hour or 3-day (72-hour) ticket is the most practical option. Reach the airport via line A + bus 119, or line B + bus 100.
If you travel daily, a Lítačka travel pass saves money — monthly (550 Kč), quarterly or annual; discounted versions are also available.
