Flora station
line A
Flora has been closed since 2 February 2026 for a full reconstruction. Line A trains pass through at reduced speed without stopping; the ticket hall, the underpasses and the shops are shut.
Reopening was first planned for December 2026. In August 2026 the transport company moved it to the end of February 2027: taking down the platform ceiling exposed damaged reinforced-concrete and steel beams, and in several places the fire-protection layer was missing altogether.
The works replace the original Soviet escalators, more than 45 years old, along with the stone cladding, wiring, ventilation and lighting, and add lifts. The lifts will not open with the station: the operator expects them in the first quarter of 2028, so Flora will reopen still without step-free access.
What to use instead: the neighbouring Line A stations Želivského and Jiřího z Poděbrad, nearby Náměstí Míru, and trams 10, 11, 13 and 16, which run right past the station.
Sources: the Prague transport company’s press release announcing the closure and its August 2026 notice extending the works. The PID timetable confirms it independently: both Flora platforms (U118Z101P, U118Z102P) are still in stops.txt but have not a single row in stop_times.txt. Verified 6 September 2026.

Not yet. The reconstruction that has kept Flora closed since February 2026 is building lifts in the station, but the operator expects to put them into service only in the first quarter of 2028 — so when the station reopens at the end of February 2027 it will still not be step-free.
Strollers and folded folding bikes (carried as luggage) are allowed. Under PID rules a non-motorised bicycle travels free on the metro on any platform of the train except the first one behind the driver’s cab, with at most two bikes per platform. PID sets no fixed banned hours, but bikes can be refused when the train is crowded. E-bikes, e-scooters and similar electric vehicles are banned on the metro (an e-bike with its battery removed is the exception). Details: pid.cz/cykliste-v-pid.
